Management Resources

There are so many great management resources for you and your organization. I have two sets here: The first are some principles and practices sites, where you can find a broad array of benchmarks. In the second table you will see many different management resources, some focussed, some deep and wide.

To view these sites without leaving this site, right-click on the link and choose "Open in New Window"

Idealist.org Another amazing resource for you. This site has listings of jobs, consultants, organizations, and technical assistance. Sections just for not-for-profits and funders help you focus your search. Good place to look for information and help. I regularly refer clients here.
Energize Have issues with volunteers? Want to know how to recruit, manage, evaluate, or deal with troublesome volunteers? All that and much much more is here at Susan Ellis's wonderful resource.
NFG is a joint charitable project of Cisco Systems and Yahoo, who have set up a not for profit to run this interesting and helpful site. How do we keep all the regulations and reporting requirements that we have to comply with? There are federal forms, state forms, and the penalties for non-compliance are severe! Here you can review what regulations require you to do each quarter and year, both at the federal and state level, and link to the actual forms. This is a good checklist for your financial manager, and a great overview for any board member or non-financial staff member of the complexity of compliance.
There is a ton of good stuff at this site---nonprofit news from around the world, a set of great nonprofit discussion forums where you can post questions and take part in interesting topic-specific sharing of ideas and views. There is an area where people can share documents (forms, policies and the like) as well as a career job search.
Another excellent general resource, very comprehensive and complete.
